Detailed Review of PowerXL Smokeless Grill

Assembly:

We found the PowerXL reasonably easy to assemble; you don’t need any technical knowledge to do so, although there was a little screwing here and there. You might not even need the manual, it’s simple to figure out, but we advise you to read the manual to avoid mistakes.

It has six parts, the glass lid, grill plate, drip tray, water tray, heating element, and lastly, the base with the electric fan.

Build Quality:

The Power XL Grill is incredible and not just in looks but the quality of materials used to make it. It weighs 17.3 pounds, which is quite heavy but should not pose a problem since it would be stationary.

Like we mentioned earlier, the grill plate is covered with a nonstick ceramic material, meaning your food does not stick and cause a mess. The PowerXL Grill also meets the recommended FDA standard for safe cooking; it is free of harmful chemicals that might affect your body. The grill itself is made of heavy-duty cast aluminum.

Although while we used it, we didn’t face this problem, we found out that several customers had issues with the lid handle. A screw or nut was missing, so this is something you might face.

Ease of Cleaning:

Most of the grill’s parts are made of materials that are dishwasher safe; the only exceptions are the base and heating element. You would find it easy to clean just like we did.

Make sure the grill is cold before you try cleaning, then you place the glass lid, grill plate, drip tray, and water tray into the dishwasher. The Base and Heating element can be cleaned easily too, all you need to do is use old damp material and a mild cleaning agent, then you wipe it. This would not be difficult due to the nonstick material. Do not, I say it again, do not use a scouring pad or a harsh cleaning agent on this.

The heating element should be unplugged before cleaning to avoid issues, don’t place it wholly into water or any form of liquid, doing so can damage the electrical components.

Capacity:

The PowerXL has a smaller version, but that’s another discussion, the PowerXL is the jumbo version. There is a cooking area of 13.5” x 8”. We were able to fit much food on it and grill them simultaneously. You can grill up to eight burgers at the same time.

Heating:

The PowerXL offers up to 1200 watts of raw cooking power that helps you to heat this grill effectively. It can even be upgraded to a 1500 watt unit. It surely lives up to the “power” in its name.

The heat is effectively distributed around the surface, and it has a temperature range of 220°F to 450°F.

Smokeless Technology:

We know you might be skeptical about this, but the PowerXL Grill is indeed smokeless, how is this possible? We’ll explain. With the lid on, the electric fan sucks in the smoke through the vents. It passes the smoke through the water; the water then absorbs the airborne particles in the air and releases clean air outside.

Ease of Use:

Before you start grilling, there are a few easy steps to take. You’d need to fill up the water tray to enable the smokeless technology. To get to the water tray, you’d need to remove the grill plate, heating element, and drip tray, then reassemble.

The PowerXL features a digital touchscreen, which makes temperature regulation and fan control easy. After filling up the water tray, press the fan button to activate the smoke extractor technology, then press the power button to activate the heating element. Easy.

The temperature can be easily regulated via the LED touchscreen, press the up and down buttons to navigate. After finishing all this, you should be ready to put your food into the grill.

After you are done, press the fan and power buttons and the wait for it to cool down and clean up.

Pricing and Delivery:

We believe that the PowerXL is expensive when compared to other electric grills. You decide to weigh out the pros and cons and see if it is worth the amount. The price can vary from store to store.

It is available for order in almost all online stores, make sure you order from a reliable source. If appears some issues, there is a 60 day, that is, two month warranty period.
